Freelance Directing & Performance Work
As a freelance director, I’ve collaborated with a number of established theatre artists and organisations, including Target Margin Theater, Fresh Ground Pepper, Nic Adams, Jaclyn Backhaus, Sam Corbin, Colby Day, Alexander Kveton and Patrick Scorese, among others. My experimental approach to directing has enabled me to stage bold new works by emerging playwrights as well as original interpretations of canonical texts.
Select credits include Thornton Wilder’s Pullman Car Hiawatha produced by Target Margin Theater and presented at The Chocolate Factory (NYC), William Shakespeare’s Hamlet produced by Organs of State and presented at The Paradise Factory (NYC), Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House produced by Theater Reconstruction Ensemble and presented at The Access Theater Gallery (NYC), Christopher Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus produced by Theater Reconstruction Ensemble and presented at The Brick (NYC), Patrick Scorese’s Zara Notes presented at HERE Arts Center (NYC), Alexander Kveton’s Il Regno Malati at Dinner and Fat Fat Fatty presented at Theater for the New City (NYC), and Isaac Hoffer’s Jack the Bird produced by Tugboat Collective and presented at Theater for the New City (NYC).
As an actor, I’ve primarily worked with experimental theatre companies on the development of devised works. I’ve frequently collaborated with Target Margin Theater, The Talking Band, Little Lord, Joshua William Gelb and David Greenspan, among others. I’ve also appeared in numerous readings and workshops of new plays, most notably for Classic Stage Company, Lincoln Center Theater and New York Theatre Workshop.
Select credits include Target Margin Theater’s The Really Big Once presented at The Ontological Theater at St. Mark’s Church (NYC) and The Magic Flute: A Sound-Op Era presented at The Brick (NYC), The Talking Band’s Marcellus Shale presented at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club (NYC) and Obskene presented at HERE Arts Center (NYC), Joshua William Gelb’s Ubu Shit Show presented at The Tank (NYC), Tugboat Collective’s Poor Sailor presented at The Brick (NYC), and Little Lord’s Babes in Toyland presented at The Ohio Theatre (NYC).
